Wedding update:

So we are basically at the 10-month mark and almost everything has been booked. However, one of the most difficult things to do is finding a rehearsal dinner venue. With over 175 out-of-town guests, including the entire wedding party and the vast majority of family members, space is proving to be quite an issue. Most restaurants in my town simply cannot seat more than 50 or so people and I just don’t want to throw another “reception” the night before the big day. Even though the future-in laws are hosting, I know it would still be a lot of work picking out linens, flowers, lighting, etc. to host the rehearsal dinner in some sort of convention space or our country club…plus, I don’t want that same reception type feel.

THEN…I stumbled upon this gem. A little art gallery in the heart of downtown. There is a lot of open space, great pieces of work from local artists, beautiful exposed white brick, and an amazing restaurant that can cater the food and booze located right next door. All we need are some high top tables and a few tea lights!

Of course the decision is ultimately up to the man’s parents, but I don’t think I could be more excited about this idea if I tried!

About

Welcome! Grew up in Missouri, but now call Chicago home. A few of my favorite things are wine, cooking, my amazing friends, family, the boyfriend, and the cat (obviously). I prefer day drinking to staying up until 4am. Manners are a must. I love college sports. I probably watch too much tv (especially the trashy VH1 kind). I hate confrontation. This is a place for all of my randomness. You can reach me at cackipants at gmail dot com.
