…but I am a lucky, lucky girl. I just got home from happy hour ($1 beers huh??) and found a package sticking out from under our door. The contents?
A full itenerary for my “birthday weekend getaway” to lake geneva, wisconsin. Including: gorgeous accomodations, brunches, dinners, wine (lots of wine), sauna, hot stone massage, shopping, and amazing quality time with my future...

The one redeeming quality of being on my way to...
Knowing that the only real expectation of me after a long holiday weekend should be for me to start (yes, start, for all of you over achievers) my online holiday shopping!
Today's Agenda:
attempt to accomplish some work until 2pm when I can head out to catch my train to Missouri
board said train, head for the lounge car, sip on a chardonney (or 2) and watch Mad Men
de-board said train, gossip with the dad during the drive home, and enjoy an amazing dinner at my favorite restaurant.
not a horrible way to start off my little thanksgiving holiday.

Today I took the day off from work to do a little relaxing, brunching, and holiday shopping…one of my favorite “stocking stuffer” gifts is candles. Justin and I have candles burning all of the time. My favorite thing about the fall and winter is when we only use candlelight to lighten and warm our little apartment. A few of my favorite finds today were:

we learned that my grandmother will need to be air-lifted from her summer home in Michigan to my hometown as she has wounds that are not healing and needs better medical attention
my little brother was in a horrific car accident from which he was miraculously able to walk away and did not injure anyone else
justin’s grandfather passed away

if you ever have the chance to see Tracy Chapman in concert, trust me - do it. she is unbelievable.
tonight is girls’ night with my cousins and i could not be more excited. on the agenda:
check into the sheraton (this way we guarantee time away from the men)
pop open champagne
head out to a fabulous sushi dinner
sing and dance and laugh all night at tracy chapman
i have loved tracy chapman ever since i was a little girl and i would sing along with my mother to every word of her new...
priorities.
is it sad that we just booked the band before the guest list has been created and the church, reception hall, and all other things wedding have been reserved??

hate: its monday. and the monday after vacation.
love: my mama and pops are on their way to back from harbor springs and staying the night in chicago to see the ring, have dinner with me, justin, and his parents, and talk all things wedding!!
