That train ride? This is the view while crossing over the Mighty Mississippi…

11am
Today's Agenda:
- attempt to accomplish some work until 2pm when I can head out to catch my train to Missouri
- board said train, head for the lounge car, sip on a chardonney (or 2) and watch Mad Men
- de-board said train, gossip with the dad during the drive home, and enjoy an amazing dinner at my favorite restaurant.
not a horrible way to start off my little thanksgiving holiday.

Oh and this little Escada beauty? She now resides with me. I am a happy little girl.

my favorite little things
Today I took the day off from work to do a little relaxing, brunching, and holiday shopping…one of my favorite “stocking stuffer” gifts is candles. Justin and I have candles burning all of the time. My favorite thing about the fall and winter is when we only use candlelight to lighten and warm our little apartment. A few of my favorite finds today were:
- Ralphie - Cypress + Fir (Anthropologie - $26)…This little guy is SO cute and smells amazing. Bonus: when the candle burns out, you can clean the ceramic bowl and use it as a decoration or insert another candle and continue the burnin’!
- Aquiesse - Pine Needles (Saks Fifth Ave $30)…To me, this is the quintessential smell of the holidays. That smell you smell when the tree goes up and the wreaths are hung. That smell of love and family. That smell that no matter what else is going on in life, you know that everthing is going to be ok. That smell that is priceless.

Let's try this again...
I know most people/friends have given up on this measly little bloggy of mine, but I think I’m ready to come back. I took a little break over the summer, came back for a bit (albeit half-hearted), but you know what? I’ve missed this. I’ve missed the somewhat anonymity…but more than anything I’ve missed the people-the people whose lives I followed. The people who felt like friends, although most of you I’ve never met. The people who live lives I could never imagine, yet reading their stories just make me smile. Over the months I’ve still kept in touch-in my own way. I’ve read what you’ve wrote-but I haven’t responded. I’ve loved what you have had to say. Now…Now I’m ready to be back :) There is a good chance none of you still reading-and that doesn’t matter. And now, now I’m ready to write again. Hope you will still read.

considering justin and i almost killed simon today, i think he deserves a little blog lovin’.
be warned: even though fresh eucalyptus may make your bathroom smell like a spa, it will also poison your cat.
3pm
Waiting for Bono in the front row at the U2 concert last night with the future in-laws…amazing show, beautiful night!!

Too close for comfort.
You made me nervous Mizzou, but you pulled through in the second half.

Roasted Tomatoes and Cipollini
considering i roast tomatoes at least three times per week, i have no doubt that this will be a regular in the recipe box.
